In response to the improved security situation in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State, Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang has announced a further relaxation of the previously imposed curfew in the locality. The curfew hours will now be adjusted from 8 pm to 7 am, a move aimed at facilitating residents’ engagement in agricultural and economic activities, thereby contributing to the overall development of the state.
Governor Mutfwang conveyed this decision through a statement, emphasizing that the modification in the curfew period was the result of careful consideration and consultation with the State Security Council.
In his statement, the Governor encouraged community leaders from various backgrounds, irrespective of faith or ethnicity, to sustain their strategic engagements. These engagements are geared towards nurturing trust, fostering tolerance, and promoting better understanding among the people.
While urging residents of Mangu Local Government Area to strictly adhere to the curfew by remaining indoors between 8 pm and 7 am, Governor Mutfwang also cautioned against taking the law into their own hands. He called on the community to cooperate and comply with the curfew guidelines.
Governor Mutfwang further appealed to the security personnel to fulfill their constitutional responsibility by effectively enforcing the adjusted curfew hours, preventing any breach of law and order.
Expressing gratitude for the cooperation and support received thus far, Governor Mutfwang urged the community to continue collaborating with security agencies. This collaboration is essential to ensuring the complete restoration of peace and order in Mangu Local Government Area.
