Hon. Fom Dalyop Gwottson aka “Banga by Nature”, former representative for Jos South in the Plateau State House of Assembly, has commended the peaceful conduct of the ongoing local government elections and praised the Plateau State Independent Electoral Commission (PLASIEC) for its commitment to a fair and transparent process.
Speaking at his polling unit in Kuru B, Gwottson expressed gratitude for the opportunity granted to Plateau citizens to elect their local leaders. “I’m thankful that the people of Plateau finally have the chance to choose their councillor’s and chairmen after a long wait,” he remarked.
Gwottson addressed concerns about technical issues with voting machines, assuring the public that PLASIEC’s guidelines allow for smooth manual accreditation and voting. He committed to visiting polling units to ensure voters and officials adhere to these guidelines.
As a PDP leader, Gwottson expressed confidence in his party’s readiness and the strong support they’ve historically received in Jos South. “Our people understand our policies, and we’ve always had their wholehearted support,” he said, emphasizing the significance of the local election for grassroots governance.
Praising Governor Caleb Mutfwang’s contributions to the state, Gwottson highlighted efforts to distribute affordable fertilizer and improve transportation, healthcare, and infrastructure. “Governor Mutfwang’s initiatives have inspired hope, and the high voter turnout reflects the people’s confidence in his leadership,” he noted.
Gwottson also reflected on his community efforts, including providing transformers, fertilizers, and educational opportunities for children, vowing to continue supporting his people. “I live here, I know the needs of my community, and I’m committed to ensuring no one is left behind,” he concluded.
