Aberdeen of Scotland’s new signing, Toyosi Olusanya believes he will have a huge impact next season with the club because he knows what the team’s coach wants from him, Sports247 reports.

Olusanya initially played only the second half of last season for Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership, which he admitted made things difficult for him, but he’s now relishing his prospects in a full campaign.

The hugely ambitious lad made the positive submission after signing a two-year agreement that transformed his initial loan spell from Houston Dynamo of USA into a full contract at Aberdeen.

Olusanya, who becomes the Pittodrie club’s fifth signing of the summer, acknowledged that he is eager to step up from his successful loan spell, which began in the second half of last season.

After arriving in January, the striker quickly established himself in The Dons’ mainframe and won the fans over, hence his belief that he will find next season easier, now that he is familiar with all systems at the club.

Having played 18 games, contributing key goals and providing assists to help Aberdeen finish the campaign strongly, the former AFC Wimbledon academy graduate is of a strong view that he now knows what is expected of him.

The 28-year-old attacker, who also previously played for Middlesbrough, St Mirren, Arbroath and Doncaster Rovers, added that he equally learnt a lot after joining Houston Dynamo in 2025.

He is now looking forward to playing a full season at Aberdeen, as he believes the experience he gained with them last term will come in handy.

Olusanya recalled how tough things were for him when he joined The Dons in mid-season, but stressed that his trying days are over and it’s now time for him to consolidate on all gains.

“I am buzzing to be back. From the moment I arrived in January, I felt welcomed by everyone at the club. The staff, the players and the supporters all made me feel at home.

“Coming in during the middle of a season isn’t always easy. I was still working my way back to full fitness and adapting to a new environment, but I felt I improved as the weeks went on. Now I have the opportunity to start again.

“I know the manager well and I know exactly what he expects from me. That gives me a great platform to push on and show what I can do,” Olusanya enthused expectantly.

As we commemorate the 2026 Democracy Day, I join millions of Nigerians in celebrating the enduring values of freedom, justice, participation, and good governance that form the foundation of our democratic journey.

For us in Plateau State, this occasion is a reminder that democracy thrives when leaders remain accountable to the people and when citizens continue to play active roles in building a peaceful, united, and prosperous society. While challenges remain, our collective resolve to strengthen democratic institutions, promote inclusiveness, and advance sustainable development must never waver.

I commend His Excellency, Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, the judiciary, the legislature, traditional institutions, security agencies, and all citizens who continue to contribute to the progress and stability of our dear state. Together, we are laying the foundation for a Plateau that works for everyone.

As we celebrate June 12, let us renew our commitment to the ideals of democracy and continue to work hand in hand for the common good of our people.

Presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, Adewole Adebayo, had said that Nigeria’s presidency is not for elderly people.

Adebayo made the assertion in an interview programme on Symfoni TV, aired on Wednesday.

He likened Nigerian presidency to football, noting that no one could play football very well at the age of 80 years.

“I’m not being an ageist but Nigeria’s presidency is not a place for elderly people, because however much you are passionate and you love football, you cannot join Super Eagles at the age of 80 years.

“The President of Nigeria needs as much stamina as a coach or captain of the Super Eagles. So, I don’t think that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s only way to serve Nigeria is to be president.

“Late former President Muhammadu Buhari himself said, when he was elected in 2015, that he wished he had gotten the position when he was younger,” Adebayo said.
