The Mupun Nation has officially endorsed Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang for a second term in 2027, citing his administration’s remarkable achievements in infrastructure and human capital development across Plateau State.
The endorsement was declared on Sunday, October 19, 2025, during a rally and project assessment tour of Lankan, Kagu, and Abwor Dyis communities in Pankshin Local Government Area, where stakeholders expressed satisfaction with the governor’s performance.
The event featured the unveiling of a large appreciation signpost in honour of Governor Mutfwang’s developmental efforts and was attended by notable figures including the Executive Chairman of Pankshin Local Government Council, Hon. Felix Amos Gonung; the Chief Medical Director of Plateau State Specialist Hospital, Prof. Christopher Yilgwan; and the Commissioner for Science, Technology and Innovation, Dr. Cletus Bako Shurkuk, among others.
Speaking during the event, Prof. Yilgwan said the endorsement reflected the gratitude of the Mupun people for the governor’s attention to long-abandoned projects in their area.
“This is not about politics but about development,” he stated. “Governor Mutfwang has revived and completed projects neglected for years—especially roads and health facilities that directly impact our economy and public health. Before now, reaching communities like Kagu or Lankan was nearly impossible during the rainy season. Today, movement is seamless, and our people are deeply grateful.”

On his part, Hon. Felix Amos Gonung praised the governor for fulfilling campaign promises that many had doubted would be realized.
“We are witnesses to the transformation of long-held dreams into reality,” he said. “Roads and bridges once considered impossible are now connecting our communities directly to Pankshin town. Access to hospitals, schools, and markets is now easier, giving our people a renewed sense of belonging. As a people, we unanimously declare our support for Governor Mutfwang’s reelection in 2027.”
Also speaking, Dr. Cletus Bako Shurkuk described the endorsement as a testament to the governor’s growing popularity and the positive impact of his leadership across the state.
“Today’s event demonstrates the love and trust the people have for His Excellency, Barrister Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang,” he said. “The projects inspected today are only a fraction of what he has achieved. With him in office, Plateau State will continue to experience transformation in all sectors.”

The delegation also paid courtesy visits to traditional leaders, including the District Head of Abwor Dyis, Da Thomas Dewan; the District Head of Kagu, Da Dawus Ri Betlong Leden; and Prince Haruna Wale, who represented the District Head of Lankan on behalf of the Mupun Traditional Council.
In their remarks, the traditional rulers commended the governor’s inclusive governance style and developmental vision, saying his administration had rekindled hope, unity, and progress among the people.
The endorsement by the Mupun Nation marks a major boost to Governor Mutfwang’s grassroots support base ahead of the 2027 governorship election, reinforcing his standing as a unifying leader committed to Plateau’s development and stability.
