Hon. Dachung Musa Bagos has strongly condemned the recent killings in Bokkos Local Government Area, particularly the tragic attack in Ruwi village, where at least 12 people lost their lives. Describing the incident as senseless and devastating, he extended his condolences to the grieving families and the wider community affected by the violence.
Bagos a former rep member commended Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, for his swift response and compassionate visit to the affected areas. He praised the governor’s commitment to addressing the persistent security challenges in the region and providing support to victims and their families.
Calling for urgent action, Bagos urged the federal government to strengthen security efforts in Plateau State. He emphasized the need for enhanced policing and protection to safeguard lives and property, urging local communities to remain united in their collective security efforts.
He further appealed to the National Assembly to expedite the passage of the State Police Law, arguing that granting state governments and local communities control over security would help curb recurring attacks and improve public safety.
“As we mourn this tragic loss, we must also take decisive steps to prevent further bloodshed. Establishing state police will empower local authorities to respond effectively to security threats,” Bagos stated.
The lawmaker also offered prayers for the injured and reiterated his commitment to supporting initiatives aimed at restoring peace and stability in Plateau State.
