PLACCIMA Nominates Bolcit Barshep-Amakiri as Vice President, Commerce

The Plateau Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (PLACCIMA) has nominated Mrs. Bolcit Barshep-Amakiri as its new Vice President, Commerce.

The nomination was approved at the Chamber’s Executive Committee (EXCO) meeting held on August 11, 2026, following the death of Alhaji Yusuf Sarumi, who previously occupied the position.

In a formal letter signed by PLACCIMA’s Executive Director, Dauda Gashi, on behalf of the President, Barshep-Amakiri was congratulated on her nomination and urged to formally accept the responsibility without delay.

Barshep-Amakiri, who is the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Anista Marketing and Events Ltd., Jos, is expected to assume her new role as the Chamber continues efforts to strengthen its leadership and promote commerce, industry, mining and agriculture across Plateau State.

Royal Exchange appoints Geoffrey Ohen as non-executive director

Royal Exchange Plc has appointed Geoffrey Ohen as its Non-Executive Director, effective 23 July.

The insurance company disclosed the appointment in a regulatory filing signed by Lovelyn Aniekwe, the company secretary, on Wednesday.

The Royal Exchange stated that Mr Ohen possessed the requisite skills and experience to make meaningful contributions to the board and support the company’s growth and development.

“The Company is confident that Dr. Geoffrey C. Ohen has the requisite skills and experience to make a meaningful contribution to the Company’s Board and to support the Company’s continued growth and success,” the company said.

The company explained that Mr Ohen had completed the necessary process before his appointment.

Royal Exchange added that the appointed non-executive director is expected to support its strategic leadership and expansion initiatives.

Profile

Mr Ohen is the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Geoff Ohen Group and has held several board-level leadership positions.

According to Royal Exchange, he currently serves as Chairman of Consolidated Resources Ltd, Ekocorp Plc, Owa Oil & Gas Ltd, and Networth Group, comprising Networth Securities & Finance Ltd and Networth Portfolio & Asset Management Ltd.

He previously served as the Chairman of Piccadilly Insurance Ltd and New Patriot Building Society Ltd, as well as a director of Daily Times of Nigeria Plc.

Royal Exchange described Mr Ohen as a widely travelled executive and philanthropist with strategic vision, business acumen, and strong operational expertise.

Mr Ohen is also an Honorary Life Member of the International Federation of Medical Students’ Association Board in Geneva, Switzerland.

Mr Ohen is an alumnus of the University of Benin Medical School and the Lagos Business School.

He is a Fellow Associate of General Practice (FAGP), Member of the Institute of Directors (IoD), and Member of the Board of Trustees of St. Saviour’s School, Ikoyi.

NNPC Limited Delivers NGN7,913 Billion in Statutory Payments, Sustains 100% Upstream Pipeline Availability for Second Consecutive Month

NNPC Ltd. has released its Monthly Report Summary for July 2026.

Cumulative statutory payments for January to July 2026 reached NGN7,913 Billion, up from NGN6,286 Billion for January to June 2026, reflecting a month-on-month addition of NGN1,627 Billion. Similarly, upstream pipeline availability was sustained at 100% for the second consecutive month.
