Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, has declared that the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will not retain power in Plateau State in the next general election.

Speaking during a weekend programme on Rhythm FM in Jos, the former APC governorship candidate expressed confidence that the All Progressives Congress (APC) would reclaim the state, adding that President Bola Tinubu would also secure reelection in 2027.

He said, “There’s no vibrancy for the PDP administration on the Plateau. The APC is a humane party. We are strategists, we don’t make noise. Strategists don’t make much noise. I will be coming back to Plateau state during campaign. I will campaign for Tinubu in 2027 and Tinubu will win Plateau state.“

“Plateau did not vote for him in the last election but he has mitigated against our major problem on the Plateau especially in the area of security Many could not go to farm but are now going to farm. President Tinubu will win Plateau in 2027, “ the minister added.

Former governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Tambuwal, has hinted that the African Democratic Congress, ADC, presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, and his party are giving President Bola Tinubu sleepless nights.

Tambuwal claimed that Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress have been scheming against the ADC but God has been frustrating their plans.

He spoke while welcoming the former Chairman of Tangaza Local Government Area, Isa Salihu Bashir Kalanjeni, into the ADC after he resigned from the APC, where he described Tinubu as an outgoing president.

Tambuwal said: “President Bola Tinubu, who is leaving office, has been staying up late because of the ADC. Everywhere he turns, he sees Atiku Abubakar.

“They have kept trying to stop the ADC from being made public, but God has prevented those plans from working.”

He said the federal government hasn’t done enough to deal with the unsafe situation and other problems the country is facing.

Tambuwal said that many politicians didn’t want to join the ADC because they were worried about the pressure of leaving the ruling party.

“Most politicians who leave the ruling APC join other political parties instead of joining the ADC.

“Only people who care about the country’s interests, not their own, will join the ADC,” he said.

The African Democratic Congress, ADC, has accused the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, of only focusing on the 2027 general elections while the country is ‘sinking daily’.

The National Publicity Secretary of the party, Bolaji Abdullahi, made this allegation on Thursday during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today.

He lamented the rise in insecurity and hardship, which he said had ravaged the country.

According to him: “For God’s sake, the country is sinking daily under their watch. The last report that we saw said 17 million Nigerians are starving to death.

“I’ve not heard the president say one word. 17 million, that is the population of many countries put together, starving to death. That’s not the opposition’s narrative; that’s an international organization that monitors hunger across the world, and the president has not said anything.

“I’ve not heard these people you mentioned say anything, and democracy is anchored on the principle that you want to make life better for the people. That is one thing that this government is not good at, and that’s one thing they don’t care about.

“If you listen to them, they have only one problem today; not these kidnappings, not this insecurity, not the hunger, not the cost of living.

“The only problem they have as far as they are concerned is the 2027 election, and that’s why, when you listen to them, that’s what they talk about as if they are in opposition, as if their mandate has ended, as if they don’t have a duty to solve the problems that the country is confronted with.

“So we are not distracted, we are clear in our mind what we want to achieve, and every single person that is a member of the ADC today is convinced that this is the only alternative that is left for Nigeria, and that’s where we derive our confidence from.”
