Relief for Dong Community as Police Out-Station Is Commissioned in Jos North

Residents of Dong community in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State have received a boost in security with the commissioning of a new Police Out-Station aimed at strengthening police presence and improving safety in the area.

The facility was commissioned on Monday by Plateau State Governor, Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, following approval by the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun. The governor was represented at the event by the Secretary to the State Government, Nanchang Samuel Jatau.

The out-station was constructed and fully furnished by the Jos North Local Government Council in response to recurring security concerns raised by residents of the Dong community, highlighting the role of local governments in strengthening grassroots security.

Speaking at the ceremony, Governor Mutfwang commended the Plateau State Police Command for its professionalism and commitment to maintaining peace across the state. He urged residents to remain vigilant and to cooperate with security agencies by providing timely and credible information.

“The government appreciates the dedication and diligence of the Commissioner of Police and officers under his command in ensuring relative peace in Plateau State. Security is a collective responsibility, and community members must support the police,” the governor said.

Also speaking, the Commissioner of Police, Plateau State Command, Emmanuel Adesina, expressed appreciation to the state government for its consistent support, noting that the collaboration has enhanced the police’s capacity to carry out their constitutional duties.

“I sincerely thank the Plateau State Government under the leadership of Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang for the unwavering support given to the Police Command,” Adesina said.

He also praised the Chairman of Jos North Local Government Area, J.K. Chris, for his commitment to the safety and security of residents.

The event was attended by top government officials, representatives of other security agencies, members of the Dong Traditional Council, and other dignitaries.
