The Plateau State Command of the Nigeria Police Force has promoted 104 officers to various ranks, acknowledging their dedication and outstanding service.
State Commissioner of Police, Emmanuel Adesina, presided over the decoration ceremony held at the Police Officers’ Mess in Jos. He noted that the promotions were based on the officers’ exemplary service records and aligned with the vision of the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, to enhance the force’s service delivery.
“The reward for hard work is more work,” Adesina remarked, urging the newly promoted officers to view their elevation as a call to serve with greater integrity and commitment.
Among the newly promoted officers was the former Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), CSP Mathias Tyopev, who now serves as Commander of the Counter-Terrorism Unit in Plateau State. Other promotions included:
- 17 Superintendents of Police (SP) elevated to Chief Superintendents of Police (CSP).
- 10 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSP) promoted to Superintendents of Police (SP).
- 77 Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASP) advanced to Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSP).
The Commissioner emphasized that the promotions reflect the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to reward diligence and foster a culture of professionalism within its ranks.
