The Plateau State Interdenominational Unity Christmas Carols and Praise Festival culminated in a spectacular finale on Sunday, December 1, 2024, leaving attendees inspired and uplifted. Held at the Ten Commandments Prayer Altar in Du, Jos South Local Government Area, the festival’s third and final day was filled with worship, praise, and heartfelt messages of hope, unity, and gratitude.
Prominent guests, including former Nigerian leaders, former Plateau State governors, lawmakers, and traditional rulers, shared words of appreciation for the Plateau State Government and the event’s organizers. Former Governors Sen. Joshua Dariye and Sen. Jonah Jang delivered goodwill messages, commending the initiative for fostering unity and showcasing the state’s commitment to peace and development.
Sen. Dariye expressed his gratitude to Governor Caleb Mutfwang for reviving the festival, emphasizing its importance as a platform for reconciliation and reflection. Sen. Jang echoed similar sentiments, praising the spirit of togetherness demonstrated during the festival and encouraging Plateau residents to continue building bridges of understanding.
The Traditional Ruler of Jos, His Royal Highness Da Jacob Gyang Buba, Gbong Gwom Jos, highlighted the cultural and spiritual significance of the festival. He thanked the organizers for creating a space where faith, tradition, and unity could thrive, promising his continued support for the event.
Members of the National Assembly serving Plateau State also shared their admiration for the festival’s success, emphasizing its role in reinforcing faith and bringing the community closer together. They applauded Governor Mutfwang’s vision, describing the event as a beacon of hope for Plateau State and Nigeria at large.
As the evening progressed, notable guests, including former Head of State Gen. Yakubu Gowon and former President Gen. Olusegun Obasanjo, expressed their gratitude to the state government and organizers for the impeccable execution of the festival. Both leaders promised their attendance next year, “God willing,” underscoring the event’s enduring impact and spiritual significance.
