In celebration of Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang’s two-year anniversary in office, media aides to the Executive Governor of Plateau State commemorated Plateau Social Media Day 2025 with the theme “Governor Caleb Mutfwang’s Two Years in Office: Connecting the People of Plateau State to Good Governance” had series of civic and inspection activities highlighting the achievements of the current administration.
The commemoration kicked off on Friday, June 27th, 2025, with a novelty football match between Team Plateau State Executive and Team Plateau State ALGON, symbolizing the unity and collaborative spirit within the Mutfwang-led government.
Activities continued on Saturday, June 28th, with an environmental sanitation exercise held around the Jos North Council Secretariat. The exercise, carried out in collaboration with the Plateau Environmental Protection and Sanitation Agency (PEPSA) and led by its Director General, Mr. Samuel Dapiya, drew participation from the Governor’s media aides and a group of dedicated female supporters. The Executive Chairman of Jos North LGC, Barrister J.K. Chris, was also on ground to receive and encourage the participants.
Mr. Dapiya praised the initiative as a model of youth patriotism and community leadership, noting:
“This is the highest form of patriotism—the media aides have taken it upon themselves to evacuate waste in the city center. It’s a commendable show of leadership and a call to other youths across the 17 LGAs to emulate this example regardless of political affiliation.”
In his remarks, Barrister J.K. Chris applauded the media aides and supporters for complementing government efforts in flood prevention and urban sanitation:
“Today marks a significant awakening among young people in Plateau State. We’ve witnessed their active involvement in clearing drainage systems and promoting a cleaner environment in support of His Excellency’s vision for a healthier, more sustainable Plateau.”
The Director General of the Plateau Information and Communication Technology Development Agency (PICTDA), Engr. Dominic Datong Gwaman, used the occasion to challenge young people to utilize social media responsibly:
“Social media should be used to speak the truth, to highlight real progress. Today’s activities by these aides celebrate Governor Mutfwang’s achievements and set a powerful example of using digital platforms for truth-telling and development.”
To conclude the day’s activities, the media aides, in a symbolic convoy aboard one of the newly acquired Metro Buses, embarked on a tour of key ongoing and completed projects. These include:
* Tudun Wada – Kabong Road
