The Rotary Club of Jos South has officially inaugurated Rotarian Henrietta N. Yohanna as its new President for the 2025 Rotary year. The installation ceremony, held at Crest Hotel Jos, drew an impressive gathering of Rotarians, club leaders, and guests united by their shared commitment to humanitarian service.
Members from all the Rotary Clubs in Jos were in attendance, including the Rotary Club of Jos, Rotary Club of Naraguta, Rotary Club of Metro, Rotary Club of Jos Utan, Rotary Club of Jos Tin City, E-Club of Eagles, Rotary Club of Jos Central, and the host, Rotary Club of Jos South. The event also welcomed club governors, members of the Ultimate Fitness Club Rantya, and members of the public who came to witness the historic transition of leadership.
The ceremony featured traditional Rotary songs, the recitation of the Four-Way Test, and the symbolic handing over of the mantle of leadership.
In his heartfelt farewell remarks, outgoing President Rotn. Morgan M. Peters reflected on the club’s resilience over the past year.
“It is with great joy that we all gather here to celebrate this occasion—a day I thought would never come but is here,” Peters said. “We’ve had a difficult year, but we sailed through not because one person is better than another, but because we held ourselves together during the challenging times. I call on all of us to support the new President even more than we have in the past, and we will unite to achieve our set goals as planned. May the Almighty God continue to bless us as we continue to render service to humanity.”
Accepting the role, Rotn. Henrietta Yohanna delivered an inspiring inaugural address that emphasized unity, participation, and impact.
“It is a true honour to stand before you today as we embark on a new year of service, fellowship, and growth,” she began. “Rotary’s strength lies in our diversity and unity—diversity of ideas, skills, and backgrounds; unity in our commitment to service above self.”
She urged members to engage in Rotary’s six areas of focus actively: promoting peace, fighting disease, providing clean water, supporting education, growing local economies, and saving mothers and children.
“I encourage each Rotarian here to participate, not just as spectators but as engaged partners,” she continued. “Together, we will strengthen our community and uphold the values that make Rotary a beacon of hope around the world.”
With renewed enthusiasm, the Rotary Club of Jos South looks ahead to a year of impactful projects and strengthened fellowship under President Yohanna’s leadership.
