All clubs in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) have been reminded to make their facilities available for inspection in line with the club licensing exercise requirements for the 2022/2023 season, which are still ongoing.

A memo from the NPFL to the clubs signed by Davidson Owumi, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) enjoined the participating clubs to fast-track their Club Licensing process by submitting all required documents for assessment within a reasonable time, to avoid being foreclosed.

It noted, “So far, Bayelsa United, Enyimba, Niger Tornadoes, Rangers, and Wikki Tourists have commenced their club licensing process while Kwara United and Nasarawa United are yet to submit necessary details on their proposed home grounds.”

It also noted that Plateau United and Gombe United have failed to make their proposed grounds available for inspection.

“The listed clubs that are yet to either provide information on their proposed home grounds or submit their proposed facilities for inspection are now urged to do so in a timely way, as the league administration will not be held responsible for any consequential effect that may arise as a result of failure to carry out the inspection process within a reasonable time,” the memo warned.

While it observed that some alternate venues submitted by the clubs have already been inspected or are scheduled for inspection, it informed the clubs that if any of the already inspected venues fall short of acceptable standards, then an inspection will be carried out at the yet-to-be inspected alternate venues.

The chief executive officer of Grassrunners FC of Sagamu, Gbenga Agbejoye has unveiled a new mobile phone app that would aid proper monitoring of progress being achieved by the club’s players and keep the coaching crew up to date.

Sports247 reports that Agbejoye disclosed this technological advancement for the third-tier Nigeria Nationwide League One (NLO) outfit while announcing their plans for the summer transfer window and build-up programme towards next season.

Agbejoye affirmed that Grassrunners continue leading in many way as far as players’ development is concerned in West Africa and the club keeps making huge investments to ensure they get their wards up to speed with world class facilities.

He added that the club is always searching for new ways and innovations on how to get better in the highly competitive sports management business, hence their introduction of an in-house player development stack on hardware.

The CEO added that the software app will be owned and exclusively written by the team, with a first of its kind GPS in this part of the world, which will track every player in training and matches with the same metrics top European clubs use.

Agbejoye further highlighted it as a processing pipeline that turns raw GPS into individual profile, with session reports regarding distance, sprints, heatmaps, acceleration and longitudinal history for each player in the fast-rising club.
