Plateau Our Heritage group donates food Items to some Plateau communities affected by recent attacks

A socio-cultural group under the name, Plateau Our Heritage today donated food items to some affected Plateau communities

The donation which was made at the groups’ office in Jos had representatives of the various communities in attendance to receive the items on behalf of their communities

Plateau Our Heritage led by the Convener of the group, Hon. Ayuba Pam Dangwong said the initiative was born out of a need to cushion the adverse impact of the attacks suffered by communities which led to gruesome killings, burning and destructions of houses and farms.

Hon Ayuba condemned all unprovoked killings in Plateau state and called for the arrest and prosecution of criminal elements responsible for such acts as a deterrent for further attacks.

Also speaking, The Chairman of Plateau Our Heritage, Hon. Alex Yola, charged security agencies to be more proactive in securing the lives and property of the citizens. He further called on the Government to strengthen the state security outfit, Operation Rainbow and encourage community efforts to assist in providing security.

Hon. Alex stated that communities must continue to be resilient against evil people who are bent on disinheriting plateau people of their lands and properties. He called on citizens to be security conscious while trying to provide necessary information to security agencies and report any suspicious activity.

He urged other groups and religious institutions to also assist such communities that have suffered attacks and also displaced Persons in such communities while further stating that the group will continue to work to unite the various ethnic groups in the State.

The President of Irigwe Development Association, Prince Robert Rigye Ashi who responding on behalf of the beneficiaries of the food items lauded the group for identifying with them and providing them with foodstuffs to reduce the hardships being faced by the people who are now homeless.

He stated that the donated items will go a long way in reducing the hardship being faced by some affected persons within their communities.

The communities who were gifted the food items include Miango in Bassa LGA, Yalwa Zangam in Jos North LGA and Kum in Riyom LGA.
