The Plateau State Police Command has commenced an Investigation into the circumstances leading to the abduction of a traditional ruler, HRH Sunday Dajep Dasha II, in the state.
Dajep, who is the paramount ruler of Mhiship Nation in Pankshin Local Government Area of the state, was kidnapped by gunmen on Wednesday night, April 5, 2023.
The monarch was in his palace in Chip community, along Mangu-Shendam road when the kidnappers stormed the area around 11pm and whisked him away to an unknown destination.
The police spokesman for the State Police Command, Alabo Alfred, who confirmed the abduction of the monarch on Thursday April 6, said officers and men of the command have been deployed to the community to carry out investigations that will lead to the arrest of the kidnappers.
“Since Wednesday when the kidnap incident happened, we deployed our men and officers to the affected community immediately,” the PPRO stated.
“So, we are on it to rescue the kidnapped monarch. Investigation is ongoing to apprehend those behind the act and bring them to book.”
