Gunmen have killed three people in a fresh attack on Sha village in Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State. The attack occurred on Monday around 10:30 PM.
The Chairman of Bokkos Local Government Council, Hon. Amalau Samuel Amalau, confirmed the incident.
Six other persons injured in the attack are receiving medical attention in Bokkos.
In his reaction on the killings, Hon Amalu said: “This is a season of jubilation and excitement across our land yet some individuals, driven by malicious intent, have chosen to cause harm to lives and property. This act is deeply disheartening and unacceptable,”
The Chairman called on security agencies to take swift action in apprehending and prosecuting the perpetrators of the attack.
He emphasised that maintaining peace and harmony remains a top priority for his administration, urging residents to unite and protect their shared heritage.
He assured the local government was collaborating with security agencies to prevent future occurrence.
