Gubernatorial Aspirant of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Plateau State, Ambassador Bagudu Hirse has been described as Man who has been there through the years and knows Plateau very well.
This disclosure was made by delegates in Jos East and Jos North LGAs as Ambassador Bagudu Hirse continued consultations with PDP Delegates in Plateau Northern Zone as part of preparations for the forthcoming Gubernatorial Primary Election.
Various delegate chairmen who spoke at the different centers acknowledged the uniqueness of the aspiration of Ambassador Bagudu Hirse, which they said was different from other aspirants, given that he is an old Administrator that needs no introduction as his antecedents speak volumes of his personality.
They attested to his numerous contributions and how he has assisted youths both when he was an ambassador and also in his previous position as a federal minister.
Further describing him they said using a Hausa proverb “Da tsohon zuma ake magani,” meaning ‘you can only use original old honey for medicine.’ They attested that contrary to many speculations he was very well, vibrant and physically strong.
Ambassador Bagudu while addressing the delegates, said he was mainly engaging them to show himself to them so they can see how healthy and ageless he looks, He pleaded with the delegates to give him the mandate and see him continue in his strides to uplift the state to greatness.
“I am pleading with you to give me your mandate and see the kind of performance I have to offer, I want to come in and salvage Plateau and my number one agenda is peace and security as I believe that is the only thing that will make Plateau investor-friendly. With my international experience, I have a lot of plans to attract more investment both in tourism and economically.”
“Ordinarily I wouldn’t be coming out to contest the seat of the Governor given that I have tried unsuccessfully in the past, but the deplorable stage in which we have found ourselves in the state has necessitated me to present myself as I believe I have the capacity to salvage our dear state from this situation.”
“Plateau State is a traditional PDP State and the party must rise to the occasion to take back power, We should be careful as some persons and sponsored aspirants are only here to unsettle the PDP in Plateau State.” Ambassador Bagudu Hirse further stated.
While visiting the Jos East delegates, he also took time out to pay a courtesy visit to the First class Traditional Ruler, The Agwom Izere, Rev Dr. Isaac Azi Wakili, where prayers were offered as the traditional ruler wished him success in his aspiration as the next Governor come 2023.
Ambassador Bagudu Hirse is well known within and outside Plateau State and Nigeria as he has served in various capacities including a former Permanent comm. Federal Civil Service Commission, Adviser to the Federal Government on the Federal Ministries of Commerce and Tourism, Education, Foreign Affairs, Health and the Presidency, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, High Commissioner to the Republic of Namibia, and Minister of State for Foreign Affairs amongst others.
His Governorship aspirations started in 1991 when he was the defunct National Republican Convention (NRC); Governorship candidate. He has continued to gather support in the forthcoming Gubernatorial Primary Election slated for 23rd May 2022, as he aspires to become the Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP in Plateau State.
