Security forces under Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) have neutralized a suspected bandit and an armed robber in separate operations in Wase and Bokkos Local Government Areas of Plateau State.
The OPSH Media Officer, Major Samson Zhakom, confirmed the development in a statement issued on Tuesday in Jos, stating that the operations, conducted on March 24, 2025, were part of ongoing efforts to eliminate criminal threats in the region.
According to Zhakom, troops carried out a clearance operation in Kampani Zurak, Wase LGA, where they engaged and took down a suspected bandit linked to a criminal network operating across Wase and Taraba State.
On the same day, security forces intervened in an armed robbery incident along the Bokkos–Richa road after receiving a distress call.
Upon arrival, troops engaged the assailants in a firefight, overpowering them with superior firepower.
One suspect was neutralized, while the rest managed to escape, sustaining injuries in the process.
An AK-47 rifle was recovered from the scene, and security operatives have launched a follow-up operation to track down the fleeing criminals.
