Hon. Laven Denty Jacob, a member of the Plateau State House of Assembly representing Pankshin South Constituency, has been abducted by gunmen.
Jacob was taken from his residence in the Dong area of Jos North Local Government Area on Monday night, September 22, 2025. Reports indicate that the assailants struck shortly after he returned home from an outing with friends.
According to a family source, the kidnappers may have trailed the lawmaker from the venue of the outing and seized him as the gate to his residence was opened. As of press time, the abductors had not contacted the family to make any ransom demands.
The incident follows closely on the heels of another abduction in the same community last week, when gunmen kidnapped a serving National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member and a University of Jos student from the residence of Solomon Dansura.
Security agencies are yet to issue an official statement regarding the lawmaker’s abduction.
