The Director of the Abuja School of Social and Political Thought, Sam Amadi, has hinted on the “only” path the Igbo race can produce Nigeria’s President.

Amadi disclosed that the only pathway for the Igbo nation to produce Nigeria’s President is through dignity.

Posting on X, Amdi wrote: “I have said it before, the only pathway to Igbo presidency in Nigeria is a path called ‘dignity’. Eji ndu eme gini (what is the value of life), talk less of Nigerian presidency, outside dignity.”

During the 2019 and 2023 elections, there were clamours for the South-East to produce Nigeria’s President.

Former Anambra State governor, Peter Obi was the presidential running mate to then Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, flagbearer, Atiku Abubakar, in 2019 but the party lost.

In 2023, Obi decamped to the Labour Party, LP, in his push to become Nigeria’s President but he came third behind Atiku and eventual winner and candidate of the All Progressives Party, APC.

Meanwhile, Obi will again contest the 2027 presidential election under the platform of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC.

Social commentator and businessman, Isaac Fayose, has claimed that the presidential candidate of the Nigerian Democratic Congress, NDC, Peter Obi, would comfortably win the 2027 presidential election in Abuja.

Fayose made the claim on Tuesday while appearing on News Central TV, amid a recent statement by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, that the opposition lacks popularity in the nation’s capital.

Wike had, during an interview, described the 2027 election as an easy contest, insisting that President Bola Tinubu would win both Rivers State and the FCT.

However, Fayose disagreed with the minister, asserting that “Abuja is NDC, Abuja is Peter Obi.”

Fayose stressed that there was nothing else the ruling party could do other than “write results”, but said they had plans to prevent any alleged attempt to rig the election.

According to him, the NDC has put strategies in place to ensure that the election is not manipulated by anyone.

“People are ready to vote. All we are scared of now is what angle are they going to suppress us from this time? This is the only area we are trying to fine-tune.

“Go to the street and try to talk to one or two people. Ask them, ‘Who are you going to vote for?’

“Abroad, before the proper election, they seek people’s opinions on who they want to vote for through mock elections. We don’t do that in Nigeria, but we need to start doing it,” he said.
