Political commentator, Imran Wakili has claimed that the African Democratic Congress, ADC, and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar may be unable to recover from the political setbacks allegedly caused by former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal.

In a post shared on X on Thursday, Wakili argued that Babachir’s actions had led to the exit of several prominent political figures from the ADC, leaving the party significantly weakened.

“The damage Babachir did to Atiku and ADC—there is no coming back from it! BINDOW is GONE, nobody is left in ADC except Atiku himself.

“Bindow gone, why? Babachir. Abbo gone, why? Babachir. Binani gone, why? Babachir. Nyako gone, why? Babachir. Nafiu Bala legal case, why? Babachir,” Wakili wrote.

DAILY POST recalls that Lawal resigned his membership of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, last month.

The former SGF said he could not remain in a party he accused of operating a “rigging machine” ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He also accused Atiku and his allies of pursuing ethnic and religious interests, arguing that the former vice president’s emergence as a presidential candidate would ultimately strengthen President Bola Tinubu’s chances of securing a second term.

Subscribers under the Grant Ecosystem have declared their support for the second-term bids of President Bola Tinubu and Gov. Uba Sani of Kaduna State.

The group made the endorsement during its solidarity conference and campaign on Saturday in Kaduna with the theme, “Renewed Hope Agenda: Consolidating Unity and Victory for APC in 2027”.

The host, Amb. Muhammad Arigbabuwo, Chairman, Council of Yoruba Traditional Obas and Chiefs in the 19 Northern States and the FCT, called for national unity ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Arigbabuwo thanked Tinubu for his leadership, courage, vision, and commitment to the nation’s progress, describing him as a “sincere leader” dedicated to the welfare of ordinary Nigerians.

“We will continue to support this administration and Tinubu’s second-term ambition because of his courageous decisions in addressing national challenges,” he said.

He urged Tinubu to urgently intervene in the payment of outstanding grants reportedly sourced from international donors, which remained unpaid for a decade.

He called on the president to direct relevant government authorities to investigate the status of the grants, verify eligible beneficiaries and establish a clear roadmap for resolving the prolonged payment dispute in line with established government procedures.

In his remarks, Rev. Moses Chooji, a special guest at the event, urged Nigerians to assess the administration based on its track record.

“These three and a half years, Tinubu has been laying the foundation of a prosperous Nigeria. Let him complete the tenure,” Chooji pleaded.

The cleric called on residents of Plateau, Kwara, Nasarawa, Niger, and Kogi states to actively aggregate support for Tinubu.

He urged eligible voters to exercise their franchise, emphasising that the president’s leadership disposition justifies a second term.

Chooji commended the organisers for uniting stakeholders, noting that “unity and a shared vision are essential for the country’s progress.”

Chooji described the Grant Ecosystem as an umbrella body of individuals, non-governmental organisations and small business owners who registered for various micro-grant related initiatives between 2015 and 2016.

He estimated the group’s strength at between 130 million and 150 million subscribers spread across the country’s six geopolitical zones.

He asserted that the network possesses significant economic potential and called on the Federal Government and Gov. Sani to engage the group to harness its potential for national growth. (NAN)
