In a shocking incident, suspected kidnappers stormed the Shendai community in the Namu District of Qua’Pan Local Government Area, Plateau State, on Saturday night. The armed assailants killed one man during their raid and abducted four others at gunpoint, sparking renewed concerns about rising criminal activities in the region.
It was gathered that the fully armed gunmen, numbering ten, stormed the community at about 9:00 pm on Saturday, February 1, 2025, and kidnapped four people at gunpoint, while a man who tried to escape was shot dead.
The Executive Chairman of the Council, Hon. Christopher Audu, who confirmed the incident on Monday, in a statement signed by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Danaan Cletus, lamented the spate of kidnapping and other criminal activities in the local government area.
“The Executive Chairman of Quaan-Pan Local Government Council, Hon. Christopher Manship, is condoling with the people of the Shendai community in Namu over the death of one person and is calling on security agencies to ensure the safe release of the abducted victims,” the statement read.
