Two persons have reportedly lost their lives after bandits attacked Yan Doya Market in Jos North Local Government Council on Saturday 29th October 2022.

One of the victims was said to be going home when a group of thugs attacked him with sharp knives and killed him.

The assailants reportedly ran away immediately. But community people gathered and pursued them, caught one of them, and killed him instantly.

It was gathered that the police came and took the corpse away, while relatives of the victim also took his remains away for burial.

The Plateau State Police Command has, however, confirmed the incident.

ALSO, airstrikes carried out by the Nigerian Air Force (NAF), with ground troop support, have killed scores of Boko Haram terrorists in the Darajamal-Mayenti axis of Bama Council in Borno State.

The terrorists were eliminated on Friday, following intelligence-led aerial and ground-coordinated military operations in the Sambisa forest.

Confirming the incident, yesterday, in Maiduguri, a counter-insurgency expert in the Lake Chad region, Zagazola Makama, said: “The terrorists suffered devastating losses while moving in a convoy of gun trucks and motorcycles in the area.”

He said the terrorists were taking refuge in the Bula Ngufdoye, Ngori, Kote, and the Tangalanga forested area.

According to him, other hideouts include Kulo Gomma, Bulamarwaye, Garje, and Wuta, as well as the Mordo border community with Cameroun.

“The Tucano fighter jets scored accurate hits, bombing three targets, which led to the death of scores of terrorists,” he said, noting that some of their weapons, including gun trucks, were destroyed.

He said the terrorists, who attempted to flee, were, however, killed in the military airstrikes.

“The hideouts are used to stage attacks on troops’ positions, as well as soft targets in the Banki area,” he said.
