A statement released by the command’s spokesperson, DSP Alfred Alabo says on February 20, the Eagle Eye Patrol Unit received information that some suspected One-Chance members were operating along Dogon Karfe, Jos and while in an attempt to dispossess one Abubakar Mohammed of his phone and valuables, the syndicate was overpowered by an angry mob.

On receipt of the tip-off, EEPU swiftly moved to the scene where they rescued and arrested the suspects from the mob. The suspects include, one Yazid Ukasha ‘m’ 23 years old of Nasarawa Gwong and one Adamu Yahaya Garba ‘m’, 22 years old of Layin Dan Maraya, Bauchi Road.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspects are members of a One-Chance syndicate who have been dispossessing unsuspecting passengers of their valuables within the Jos metropolis.

Alabo added that exhibits recovered from the suspects include one tricycle with PT No. PTA-861 and Reg No. WAS-371 WL. Efforts are being intensified to apprehend other members of the syndicate.

He added that the state Commissioner of Police, CP Hassan S. Yabanet, FCID, assures all Plateau residents of his Command’s commitment to getting rid of criminal elements in the State. He further urges them to go about their lawful businesses without fear, as the Police are doing, to ensure their safety.
