Plateau Ethno-religious leaders pledge peaceful coexistence

Community and religious leaders in Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State have agreed to push for the advancement of the state and the nation at large while living in peace and harmony, shunning any form of bitterness and rancour.

The leaders made the pledge in Jos when the Christian Rural Development Associations (CRUDAN) commemorated the International Day of Peace, themed, “End Racism; Build Peace”.

In her remarks, the Executive Director of CRUDAN, Ruth Dull, said people should be cautious, intentional, and sensitive to their biases so that racism and discrimination can be eschewed and everyone can be treated equally.

She said people’s diversity is a form of strength and not weakness, and that individuality and differences do not have to be uniform but that there could be unity in that diversity still.

Participants at the event used the occasion to call on Nigerians to collaborate towards advancing unity, peace, and tranquillity in the country.
