ASUU Strike: University of Jos Non Teaching Staff to Work From Home

The management university of Jos has given an order for non-teaching staff to work from home, from Thursday, 15th September 2022, with the exception of those performing crucial duties. this was conveyed through an internal memo signed by the registrar Rejoice James Songden, Ph.D. on Tuesday 13th September 2022.

The memo reads;

Sequel to the suspension of the five (5) months old strike by the Non-Teaching Staff Unions, the prolonged non-payment of salaries for the past four (4) months, the absence of students on campus, and the precarious economic hardship experienced within the University community.

The University Management deliberated extensively on these challenges and resolved that Staff should work from home until further notice.

This directive, however, excludes those rendering essential duties and staff serving in the offices of Principal Officers.

The University Management identifies with the difficult times experienced by its esteemed workforce and hope for a turnaround within the University Community and the educational sector at large.

This notice takes effect from Thursday 15th September 2022.

Please accept the assurances of the Vice-Chancellor’s kind regards.
