Following the road accidents in Plateau State and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) two policewomen among 19 persons have been reported dead.
No fewer than 21 others were injured in the incidents.
Borno State Police Command confirmed that the two policewomen were constables, adding that 17 other personnel were injured in the accident that happened on Monday on Hawan Kibo Road in Plateau.
Borno police spokesman Sani Shatambaya said yesterday in a statement that the personnel were en route Uyo for the 2022 Police Games.
He said the contingent was to represent Zone 15 comprising Borno and Yobe commands at the Biannual Police Games in Uyo, Akwa Ibom.
Shatambaya said the accident occurred due to brake failure.
