Plateau State Police Rescues 77 Stolen Cows

The Plateau State Police Command has successfully recovered a total of seventy-seven cows belonging to Alhaji Idris Yunusa, the Galadiman Yuli Duguri, which were rustled by criminals on September 11, 2023. The cattle theft occurred in Gajin Duguri village, Alkaleri Local Government Area of Bauchi State.

When the culprits spotted the security operatives, they abandoned the cattle and fled.

A statement released by DSP Alfred Alabo, spokesperson of the command, says intelligence report states that the cows were rustled from a herder while grazing and moved towards Odare forest of Kampani Zurak village, Wase Local Government Area.

‘’On receipt of the information, the Divisional Police Officers, (DPO) Bashar Division, CSP Atiku Yahaya immediately led a team of Policemen who in conjunction with some VGN personnel and Hunters, intercepted the culprits. On sighting the Policemen, the culprits fled into the nearby forests.

However, 77 cows were recovered and released to the owner. The Police have intensified efforts in order to arrest the culprits and ensure that they face the full weight of the law.’‘ the statement read.
