Gov. Simon Lalong

The Executive Chairman of Langtang North Local Government Area of Plateau State, Hon. Joshua Ubandoma has said Governor Lalong is desperate to rig the 2023 elections in the State together with the Director General of Tinubu/Shettima Campaign Organisation.

He described the statement made by the governor at the weekend in Plateau South that whoever is not willing to remain in APC can go and that the party will win the three senatorial districts, eight federal House of Representatives seats, and all the 24 seats in the state House of Assembly respectively, as unfortunate and unacceptable.

Governor Lalong reportedly made the statement while addressing APC stakeholders in Shendam, saying whoever feels disenfranchised by the APC primaries should go to court and seek redress.

Ubandoma reacted, saying there is nothing in place to support Governor Simon Lalong’s claims.

he said “It means that as DG of the theTinubu/Shettima Campaign Organisation, they have already concluded plans to rig the 2023 elections in the state. I can assure anybody that with that statement, the Governor is going to find it very tough since he has made it clear that the election is going to be rigged”, Ubandoma noted.

He explained that this is not how a leader should speak, noting that Governor Lalong is always making statements that tend to disunite and dismember the state. Ubandoma has accordingly cautioned the Governor and urged him to steer clear from the Plateau Southern zone because it would not be possible to rig out the will of the people in 2023.

“Governor Lalong cannot succeed in doing that in Southern Plateau because he lacks the capacity and cooperation to do that. With the statement credited to him, we are not going to take it lightly with him. I want the INEC and the general public to know that Governor Lalong and the Federal Government have concluded plans to rig the 2023 general elections in Plateau State because he is the DG Tinubu/Shettima Campaign Organisation”, Ubandoma noted.

However, the state publicity secretary of APC, Sylvanus Namang In reaction to Hon. Joshua Ubandoma claims said the opposition party has already conceded defeat before the election in 2023.

He said they are jittery about the ruling party everywhere in the state even when they have not started campaigning.

Namang also added that what is happening now is simply testing the microphone as APC is very much capable of winning every seat in the 2023 election.
