Plateau United’s head coach has boasted that the Peace Boys will end Bendel Insurance’s unbeaten streak when both teams clash this weekend.

Bendel Insurance is the only team yet to taste defeat in the Nigeria Premier Football League this season.

Monday Odigie’s side enjoyed a five-point lead at the top of Group A table.

Ikechukwu is, however, confident his side will inflict the first defeat on the Benin Arsenals.

“It’s 100% possible to take revenge on Bendel Insurance. Last season Rivers United were 14 games unbeaten coming to Plateau United but we beat them. So, that one is not a problem,” Ikechukwu told reporters

The most important thing is to psyche the team up but we will beat Insurance on Sunday.”

Plateau United lost 3-2 to Shooting Stars in Ibadan on Wednesday.

Insurance was held to 1-1 draw by Akwa United on the same day.

Plateau United delivered one of their most impressive performances of the season, thrashing high-flying Ikorodu City 4–1 in a dominant NPFL encounter to strengthen their position on the table.

The Peace Boys showed intent from the start and maintained control throughout the game, with second-half substitute Ossy Martins emerging as the standout performer after grabbing a brace to seal the emphatic victory.

The result marks a significant boost for Plateau United, who have struggled for consistency this season. Defeating a top-performing side like Ikorodu City not only restores confidence within the squad but also signals their determination to finish the campaign strongly.

Beyond the scoreline, the win could prove pivotal in their push away from the lower half of the table, easing pressure on the team while reigniting belief among supporters.

Attention now shifts to their next fixture, where Plateau United will be aiming to build on this momentum and secure another positive result as the league season approaches its final stages.
