The Ochaworth Leadership and Community Development Initiative (OWLACDI), in partnership with Pout & Play, on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, hosted the Pink Lip Gloss Edition for Breast Cancer Awareness, an event that blended education, advocacy, and community action.
The program, hailed as both inspiring and impactful, placed a strong emphasis on integrating breast cancer awareness into school curriculums—ensuring that young people are equipped early with knowledge on prevention and healthy living.
Highlights included a sensitization session on early detection and self-examination, where health experts underscored the role of lifestyle and dietary choices in reducing cancer risks. Attendees were provided with practical tips and preventive measures to apply in their everyday lives.
Adding emotional weight to the event, breast cancer survivors and families shared personal stories, underscoring the urgency of continued awareness and community support.
In a show of solidarity, participants purchased Pout & Play lip gloss and pink ribbons, both symbolic of unity in the fight against breast cancer.
Organizers described the edition as more than an event, framing it as a movement to break silence, encourage early detection, and promote healthier living.
