Plateau Govt Approves New Contractor For Lalong Legacy Projects

Plateau State Governor Simon Bako Lalong has approved a new contractor for the completion of the Lalong Legacy Projects following the termination of the contract with the previous contractor.

This was one of the decisions taken at the end of the State Executive Council meeting held at the Council Chambers of the new Government House, Little Rayfield Jos which was presided over by the governor.

Briefing newsmen after the council meeting, permanent secretary of Ministry of Finance, Mr Kenneth Horlong who stood in for the commissioner for finance said the new contractor Mssrs United Integrated Construction Company was given the contract at the sum of N26.6billion with a completion period of 32 weeks.

He said the projects which include nine primary schools, six secondary schools and six hospitals, are world-standard and located across the 17 local government areas of the state.

Recall that the legacy project initial amount was N59 billion before it was later rescoped to N29 billion. The state government later terminated the contract because of poor performance by the contractor handling the project, Bleneson Services Nigeria Limited.

Meanwhile the contractor has rejected the termination of his contract by the state government. The firm said the termination of the contract via the media was an abuse of process vowing that it will resist it.

‘We won’t tolerate such’ – City Boy Movement sacks Oyo coordinator for insulting Tinubu, son

The City Boy Movement has sacked its Oyo State Coordinator, Ahmed Ajibola, for allegedly insulting President Bola Tinubu, Seyi Tinubu and the leadership of the movement.

This is contained in a statement by the movement’s Director-General, Francis Shoga, on Thursday.

According to the statement, Ajibola’s removal came barely two months after he was issued a formal notice to respond to several allegations contained in a petition submitted against him.

“On the 2nd of June, 2026, a notice signed by the Director-General of the City Boy Movement, Hon. Francis Oluwatosin Shoga, Ajibola was accused of making abusive, insulting and derogatory remarks against the national leadership of the Movement, including the Director-General,” the statement said.

It added that the petition also alleged that the sacked coordinator made offensive comments concerning the Movement’s Patron, Seyi Tinubu and directed derogatory remarks at President Bola Tinubu.

The statement further said that he engaged in acts of insubordination and disrespect towards constituted authority.

According to the statement, Ajibola also challenged a leader of the movement in the state to a physical confrontation and engaged in conduct capable of bringing the image and reputation of the City Boy Movement into disrepute.

“The Movement had directed Ajibola to submit a written defence within 48 hours, warning that failure to provide a satisfactory response could result in further disciplinary action,” it added.
