Pharmacist Chun John Distributes Cash Relief to IDPs in Kakpwis Community

In a generous gesture aimed at supporting internally displaced persons (IDPs) affected by recent attacks in Barkin Ladi, Mangu, Riyom, and Jos South LGAs, Pharmacist Chun John, also known as “CJ,” presented cash relief to 50 individuals in the Kakpwis community, Foron, Barkin Ladi LGA.

The relief funds were part of a substantial donation made by Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, during her visit to Jos Plateau State on 12th September. Senator Tinubu had contributed N500 million to 500 displaced families across six local government areas in Plateau State through her pet project, the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI). Each beneficiary from Mangu, Riyom, Barkin Ladi, Bassa, Bokos, and Jos South LGAs received one million Naira to aid their return to their communities and the reconstruction of their homes.

Dispelling any notion that he was a beneficiary himself, Pharmacist Chun John expressed gratitude for the opportunity to reach out to the IDPs in Kakpwis community. During the presentation, he handed 50 individuals a sum of 20,000 Naira each. He praised the First Lady for her foresight in making such a substantial donation and urged the public to support similar laudable initiatives.

Pharmacist Chun John committed to further assistance, announcing plans to return and provide cash tokens to an additional 50 IDPs once another list is compiled. Sen Simon Mwadkon, who flagged off the cash donation, commended the First Lady for her relief initiative and acknowledged Chun John’s efforts in identifying and reaching out to the affected communities.

In their responses, beneficiaries like Mary Simon, a widow, and Mark Pam Gwo expressed elation at receiving relief from the First Lady. They conveyed joy and appreciation, emphasizing the significant impact the support would have in alleviating their needs. The beneficiaries pledged to use the funds wisely for the betterment of their circumstances.
