Panic as Gunmen Abduct University Professor in Plateau State

There was panic in Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State following the abduction of Professor Musa Dankyau, a lecturer at Bingham University, Abuja, by unidentified gunmen.

The incident occurred on Monday night, August 4, around 9:30 p.m., at SA Estate along Guratopp Road, where the assailants reportedly stormed the professor’s residence and whisked him away to an unknown destination.

Security analyst Zagazola Makama revealed the development in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday, sparking concern across academic and local communities.

In response, security forces have reportedly launched a coordinated search-and-rescue operation aimed at securing the professor’s release and bringing the perpetrators to justice.

As of the time of filing this report, no group has claimed responsibility for the abduction, and the whereabouts of Professor Dankyau remain unknown.
