Bokkos, Plateau State – Armed men on Thursday attacked two villagers along the Margif–Kopmur Road in Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State, leaving one dead and another seriously wounded.
Security analyst Zagazola Makama confirmed the incident in a post on X on Friday, stating that the attack occurred at about 8:30 a.m.
The victims were identified as Michael Lontukun from Njin Kopmur village in Mushere West, who died instantly, and Stephen David from Kopmur village in Margif Ward, who sustained gunshot injuries.
Witnesses said the gunmen opened fire on the duo without warning. Troops of the Nigerian Army and the Sector 5 Commander of the Special Task Force (STF) later responded at the scene.
The injured victim was taken to the General Hospital in Horop for treatment, while the family of the deceased collected his remains for burial after declining an autopsy.
