The newly sworn-in commissioners include Sunday Akpan (Bassa LGA), Joyce Ramnap (Langtang South), Sylvanus Dongtoe (Shendam), Dr. Nicholas Baamlong (Qua’an Pan), and Cornelius Doeyok (Qua’an Pan). Governor Mutfwang charged them to serve with diligence, transparency, and a strong commitment to delivering on his administration’s vision for Plateau State.

“As public servants, you are the face of this government, and the citizens of Plateau State look up to you to uphold the principles of accountability, innovation, and responsiveness,” Mutfwang declared. He emphasized the enormity of the task ahead but expressed confidence in the collective dedication of his team to overcome challenges and achieve the desired transformation.

The governor reiterated his administration’s focus on key areas such as peace and security, infrastructural development, healthcare, education, and good governance. “Beyond executing existing policies, I encourage you to introduce innovative ideas that will accelerate the progress of our dear state. Your expertise, integrity, and dedication to the public good will be instrumental in ensuring that we leave behind a legacy of service and excellence,” Mutfwang stated.

In addition to the commissioners, the governor also inaugurated the governing councils of the state’s tertiary institutions. He tasked the newly appointed chairmen and members with driving reforms in the education sector, emphasizing the need to equip Plateau youths with the skills and knowledge required to compete globally.

“Education is the bedrock of development, and we must ensure that our institutions are centres of excellence, producing graduates who are not only employable but also capable of driving innovation and growth,” Mutfwang said.
