Constituents Endorse Gov Lalong as APC Senate Candidate for Plateau South

All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders from Governor Simon Lalong’s immediate constituency, have endorsed the governor as their candidate for the Plateau South Senatorial seat in the forthcoming general elections.

 

Arising from a meeting on Tuesday 3rd of May 2022 in Jos, with Gov Lalong in attendance, APC Stakeholders comprised of the three local government areas of Quan-Pan, Shendam, Mikang, appealed to Gov Lalong to accede to the peoples’ demand and stand as the party’s candidate in the next general elections having been so endorsed.

 

Chairman of the Forum, Sir Joseph Ari, while expressing the position of the meeting, held that the entire stakeholders, including youth and women groups and other members of the party, were well pleased with the sterling performance of the Governor who has restored relative peace on the Plateau, achieved massive construction of schools and hospitals across the 17 local government areas of the state, as well as completing other projects that have direct bearing on the populace and moved that the Governor be adopted as the party’s candidate.

 

The motion was seconded Rt Hon Naanlong Daniel, the Majority Leader of the Plateau State House of Assembly.

 

Said Ari, “Gov Lalong has impacted positively on the lives of our people and we call on all lovers of peace to support him irrespective of party affiliation in other to benefit from his wealth of experience and varied contacts.”

 

Ari, who is the current Director General, Industrial Training Fund (ITF) also extended an invitation to all supporters and well wishers of the governor, to grace the formal presentation of the Expression of Interest and Nomination forms to him on Saturday 7th May 2022 in Shendam, headquarters of Plateau South Senatorial Zone.

2027: OK Movement DG resigns after one month, gives reason

The Director-General of the OK Movement, Peter Ameh, has resigned his position.

Ameh announced his resignation on Tuesday in Abuja, stating that it took immediate effect.

According to Ameh, he was leaving to focus on his bid to represent Kogi East in the Senate in 2027 on the platform of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC.

“I hereby formally tender my resignation as Director-General of the OK Movement, effective immediately.

“This decision will enable me to devote the necessary time and energy to my campaign for the Kogi East Senatorial District, where I am the candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC,” Ameh wrote in his resignation letter.

Meanwhile, he reaffirmed his loyalty to the NDC’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, whom he described as his leader.

DAILY POST reports that it is barely a month since Ameh was appointed the DG of the Movement.

The OK Movement is a group of supporters of the NDC presidential candidate, Peter Obi, and his running mate, Rabi’u Kwankwaso.

Osun Election: We worked with Accord to stop APC from winning – ADC

The African Democratic Congress, ADC, has revealed the reason for its poor performance in the just concluded Osun State governorship election.

Speaking during an interview on Trust TV, ADC National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, said the party’s low vote count was due to its collaboration with the Accord Party, which won the election.
