The Plateau State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of two individuals in connection with the alleged murder of a 29-year-old student of the University of Jos, Daniel Umar Izang.
Izang was found lifeless on August 2, 2025, at Rusau Village Hostel, near the university’s permanent site. He was rushed by friends to Asibiti Clinic, located opposite the campus, where he was confirmed dead by a medical doctor.
According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, the university’s Chief Security Officer, Mr. Agama Tangur, reported the incident to the police on August 4.
Preliminary investigations revealed signs of violence on the victim’s body, suggesting foul play. Police operatives who visited the scene subsequently arrested two suspects: Moses Joel and Naanmang Kadaura, both 25 years old.
The body of the deceased has been deposited at the Plateau Specialists Hospital morgue for autopsy, while investigations are ongoing.
